WHAT IS THE GIANT SQUID?
It is a cephalopod whose scientific name is Dosidicus Gigas. It is possible to fish it, principally, in Mexico, Ecuador, Peru and Chile; of these four countries, Peru is the one that is provided with the biggest quantity of this resource and in fact is the country, with big difference, that does the most fishing and exports.
HOW IS THE GIANT SQUID CAUGHT?
95 % of the fishing of this resource is caught in a handmade way in small crafts crewed between three and five persons.
WHY GIANT SQUID DOES IT HAVE AMMONIATED COMPONENTS?
This is due to the mechanism of flotation that the giant squid develops. The thickness of the ammonia is minor than that of the water for what to equality of volume, therefore the Giant Squid tends to float without doing major effort.
This advanced natural mechanism of flotation develops the bigger ( the more age ) the size of the giant squid. This means, for example, that a small giant squid whose weight does not overcome 1.500 grams practically will not have ammoniated presence.
